In the mid-60s, when I was a teenager of 15 years or so, I fell in love with the guitar style of B.B. King and the Blues in general. One night when B.B. was performing in my hometown of Cleveland, I went to hear him and after the show snuck into his dressing room. My audacity got me a profound impromptu mentoring lesson that has stayed with me since that night.
The stage is set for an extraordinary evening of jazz as acclaimed guitarist James Emery takes center stage at the Jean Cocteau Cinema on Friday, March 1 at 7:00 PM. Emery, accompanied by bassist Cyrus Campbell, will showcase world premieres from Emery’s latest recording, Inside Outlier, in what promises to be a captivating CD release party.
